Political Correctness

The following is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

This year's term: "Political Correctness.."

"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

A reply from a reader in the Baltimore Sun blog replied. "Political Correctness is the refuge of people who can't argue facts."

As for myself I would like the politicians and those in the media to be first to pick up the clean end of a turd with their bare hand.

Everyone has their opinions as to what is and is not politically correct. To me Liberals are not to be trusted, for that matter not many politicians whether they be Democrat or Republican are to be trusted.

I do not like having discussions about two things. Politics and religion, but it is nice to vent every once and a while. What I believe is there seems to be a thought amongst politicians that they are representative of the people (their constituents) but how they vote is only indicative of what they believe is correct not what their constituents want. Why? Because the constituents do not now better. I guess what the politicians are saying is that we (the people) are stupid. When you have a chance take a look and see how your respective senator, congressman/woman have voted for you. Not everyone is going to be happy with what or how a particular piece of legislation has been voted but you can see what kind of individual you have on the hill, if you don't like what you see start voting. If you don't vote you certainly have no room to talk and voice your opinion. But if you do vote you can have your say at least in a voting sense.
